Liaoning Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant is the first nuclear power project approved for construction during the 11th Five-Year Plan period. It is the first standardized and large-scale nuclear power project in China to install four million KW nuclear power units at the same time, and also the first nuclear power plant in northeast China. It plays an important role in optimizing power supply structure and realizing energy saving and emission reduction in Liaoning province.

The project involves the construction of 500 kV Wafangdian substation line of Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant, the construction of 105 towers, the erection of 46.475 km of new lines, the transformation of two 500 KV substations in Dalian Wafangdian and Yingkou Nanhai, and the completion of 500 KV Hongwa II, III line and Wahai I, II line,etc.
